Back again with another Paris post, this time sharing the details about everything I wore on my trip last weekend!

It may come as a shock (to literally no one) that I was a bit last minute pulling together my outfits. I purchased a couple of things for the trip, but for the most part, I just kind of winged it! I usually find outfit planning to be so stressful, but when I think of Parisian style, it's so simple and effortless, and I really tried to channel that energy. I think it worked out well- I was pretty happy with what I came up with!

Happy Monday! I can't believe Thanksgiving is already NEXT WEEK! I am very excited about Thanksgiving this year because I am heading down to Oak Island, North Carolina with my mom and brother. My mom lives in Raleigh now but rented a beach house for the Holiday and I am so looking forward to spending Thanksgiving on the beach in warmer fall weather.

When I think of Thanksgiving outfits I immediately think of the Gossip Girl scene where Nate is playing football with his family and they are all wearing bougie little sweaters. I love the classic vibe that comes with not only the food and activities of Thanksgiving but the outfits as well. This year, even though we are all probably tempted to stay in the lounge sets we've been collecting throughout quarantine, it's kind of fun to have an excuse to actually get dressed up. I, for one, plan to get dressed this Thanksgiving! In what? Not sure yet. Hopefully, this post will help you as much as it's helping me get inspiration for Thanksgiving outfit ideas.

It's the official first day of my internship!!! Woooo!! I can't wait to see what this summer has in store for me and keep you all updated on how my internship goes. This was a very popular post last summer, so here we are again with another round of internship outfit ideas! When it comes to getting dressed for class, I've been trying to look a little more put together this year in my business classes. Last year, I wore leggings and a big sweater the majority of the time because I was attending big lectures where I didn't know anyone and didn't really feel the need to make a good impression. This has resulted in little changes from leggings to more stylish jeans and tops instead of sweatshirts. Today is the first day of Summerfest! If you're not from the midwest, you probably haven't heard of Summerfest, but it's one of the biggest music festivals in the country. When it comes to dressing for music festivals, I personally have noticed that there's a fine line between looking cute and trendy and looking a little too ~risqué~ if you know what I mean. I've been in love with the bandana trend for months now but could never find one that I felt really went with my style so that I could actually pull it off. Last week I picked up this one at Madewell as I shared in yesterday's outfit post. I love the two shades of blue and I knew it would be perfectly incorporated with my summer color palette of whites, blues, and denim. I had so much fun going to the Milwaukee Domes after work one day with my new photographer/intern bestie, Koryn, but since I packed only one outfit, we decided to switch up my bandana placement to give some of the photos a different vibe. What To Wear To a Summer Internship (Under $100!)

I started my internship for the summer exactly a week ago, and the dress code is much more strict than I experienced last year! Last summer I interned at my high school and built a new website for the school and managed/planned a lot of the social media content throughout the summer months. I spent this weekend at home relaxing and hanging out with my mom, and I am finally feeling a little bit better. Complete Winter Sorority Recruitment Outfit Guide

This post has been a highly requested one this fall. I went through winter sorority recruitment last year and I have been getting so many questions about what to wear during the rounds. Recruitment is different at every school, but for the most part it's always a weather-related disaster when it comes to planning outfits. Southern schools typically recruit in the fall when it's way too hot outside, and midwest/east coast schools recruit in the winter when it's snowing and freezing cold. Who thought that was a good idea? Between standing outside houses in freezing temperatures and sitting in a stuffy house or classroom, there is definitely an art to layering for winter recruitment. Most are under $200, but my favorite is this velvet jumpsuit that's even under $100. I feel like I say that every year, but the holidays are just so anticipated all year long that when they finally arrive it's like a dream come true! However, that's a little tricky when we are bouncing between 70 degree temps in the afternoon and 40s when heading out the door in the morning. We experienced an 80 degree day here in Wisconsin yesterday. Not only is that pretty rare to occur even in the summer, but being almost halfway through September had me convinced I'd be layering on my sweaters by now! I guess I will just have to prepare for fall through Pinterest for the next few weeks. After all, fall is short and Wisconsin winters aren't my favorite, so I can't complain about these last days of sunshine. When fall does roll in, however, here are some outfits I want to recreate: 

Sorority Recruitment Outfit Advice Needed

Thank you to everyone who dropped a sweet comment/tweet/email, or even read Tuesday's post. You're all the best when it comes to things like that, so thank you for making this little corner of the internet such a positive place for me! Continuing on the theme of college, I'm starting to plan out what I want to wear for rush, which basically means I'm also starting to stress out a little bit and I'm feeling really clueless with outfit planning. 

For sorority recruitment at Lehigh, there are two seniors from each sorority chapter that disaffiliate from their house for the year to help an assigned group of PNM's (potential new members) with any questions/concerns related to rush. These girls are called our Rho Gamma's, and I think most schools usually have them, but they're sometimes titled differently. Anyway, our Rho Gamma's give us the general idea of what to wear for each of the rounds of recruitment, but I'm still struggling to nail down the specifics. 

Here's how rush works at Lehigh:

Round 1 //  We visit all 9 houses

Dress is "something you'd wear to class," (on a good day!) which means like a cute sweater/jeans/boots

Round 2 // I think we visit 5 or 6 houses

Dress is same as Round 1

Round 3 // I think that's down to 3 houses!

Dress is "what you'd wear to meet your significant other's parents" or "to a fancier dinner" (I'm thinking a skirt? But what kind of shoes...? TBH, when I met Jack's parents for the first time it was in their car picking us up from freshman homecoming, and then I didn't see them again until we started dating junior year and I think I was in Lulu leggings and a t-shirt... #noshame)

Thanksgiving Outfit + Recipe Ideas

How is Thanksgiving just one week away?!

I'm heading to Dallas on Wednesday, which means we are celebrating the holiday at my Dad's new house for the first time! It's going to be a small one, just my brother and I are flying in. I've actually never been to Texas before, so this whole trip will emulate a lot of "firsts" for me.

Thanksgiving specifically will also be the first time that my dad has hosted for just us, so my aunts and my grandma won't be there to take charge of all of the cooking. Don't be fooled, yours truly is probably going to wind up doing most of the work, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't super excited about that. I've missed cooking a lot, and having a chance to cook whatever I want now that I'll be away from school for a few days is really giving me something to look forward to! I've already started looking up recipes and getting excited to be back in a real kitchen with real ingredients all at my fingertips... 

This is just a taste of what I'm thinking of doing for our Thanksgiving:

How yummy do all of these recipes look?! I'm so excited just to eat healthy foods with clean and real ingredients again... ugh, my mouth is watering!

Another fun part of the holiday is having the whole family look festive and cute at the table in fall outfits. I pulled a little Thanksgiving outfit inspiration today as well:

plaid wrap // velvet watch

mock neck sweater (also love this funnel neck style) // v-neck sweater // bell sleeve sweater

ripped black jeans // black corduroys on sale! (also love this corduroy skirt)

heeled booties // over-the-knee boots // velvet flats

Omg, I want. it. all. The velvet trend is killing it right now, and imagining those pretty lace-up velvet flats with corduroys and a gorgeous bell sleeve sweater sounds like the most chic outfit ensemble you could do! That outfit is also a dressier way to wear pants if your Thanksgiving is nice but still on the casual side of things. 

Of course, with all of the eating to be done, oversized sweaters are the way to go. I love both the funnel neck / mock neck style, and a good, classic slouchy v-neck .. I definitely have overdone it in my wardrobe when it comes to cream colored sweaters, but I just need to conclude that the limit does not exist for those babes. Pair with casual ripped denim and booties or over-the-knee boots  and you've got an easy combo. Everything also would be so, so cute cozied up with a plaid wrap and that sleek velvet watch... I need!!

Easy Fall Outfit Combos

Yesterday at Lehigh we had Open Houses for all of the panhellenic sororities here on campus. This basically means any of the freshman girls interested in Greek Life and rushing a sorority next semester came out and we were split into groups where we visited each of the nine sorority chapters. The day was pretty long and really tiring talking to three girls one-on-one for twenty minutes at each house without breaks, but it was fun to get a chance to see each house and the vibe of the girls inside. I definitely have a good idea of which house I want to rush and I am excited for the whole process in January... I think rush will be a great way for me to start to feel more at home here at Lehigh!

With events like these comes a little stress of what to wear, but I am definitely more comfortable creating outfits in the fall than during any other season because so many of my clothes are neutral and easy to layer and mix and match. I wore my favorite boots, black pants, and my Barbour with a light sweater since it's finally starting to get chilly out. However, I noticed a really cute trend on campus is moto pants paired with booties and a cute sweater or poncho! I created a few combinations of that look below. I am really into the moto pants look and I'm dying to add a cute poncho and a new pair of booties to my wardrobe.
