Better late than never, right?! August was such a fun month - from Italy, to Portugal, to my birthday, Nantucket, and a wedding over Labor Day weekend, it was a busy, fun, fabulous month. I'm always sad for my birthday month to come to a close, but fall in NYC is my favorite, and I'm so ready to be done with the hot weather.

September will be a fun one; I am going to the US Open for the very first time tonight, visiting my mom for her birthday later this month, and I'm very much looking forward to getting back into a routine here in the city as well.

Upstate New York Weekend Recap (Hudson Valley & The Catskills)

Last weekend, Joe and I went on a little weekend getaway upstate to the Hudson Valley and Catskills in New York! This is something I'd wanted to do ever since moving to NYC; the fall foliage is unmatched, and the drive just two hours outside of the city is absolutely lovely. We got so lucky with perfect weather and two lovely days together!

 1. Happy Friday, hello November, hope everyone had a great Halloween, and happy holidays I guess?!? Haha, this week has been kind of crazy! I am personally a fan of Halloween and loved watching the parade here in NYC on Tuesday night. I really tried to soak up as much as I could of October before waking up to holiday gift guides and holiday party ideas all on social media Wednesday morning.

2. Now that we are moving into the holiday season, I've begun my annual gift guides! I personally haven't even started to think about gift-giving, but I know a lot of people are far more proactive than I am, so I wanted to get the gift guides going. I started yesterday with "my wishlist" to give inspiration to anyone trying to think of something to ask for when their mom, aunt, grandmother, etc. inevitably asks! 

3. Of course, I also published the November mood board this week! If you're new, I make these free desktop & iPhone wallpapers every single month!

Fall Home Decor Refresh

I'm throwing a dinner party tomorrow and it's gotten me in such a mood to decorate my apartment for fall; I've already gotten out my autumnal candles and a few pumpkins (I mean, obviously), but I've been wanting to incorporate more candlesticks, autumnal colors, and little things like that. Of course, the dinner party requires all sorts of festive serving dishes, seasonal cocktail napkins, etc as well. Queue the round-up of a few home decor pieces for this season..!

This Week's Top 10, Fall Recipes, Fall Shopping, etc

1. Happy Friday! I returned home from Dallas on Wednesday and I am so excited to spend the rest of fall enjoying New York. I had a lovely time with Joe in Dallas; we golfed, got massages, and just hung out, and it was so relaxing as usual. I also got to see my friends Louise and Claire, which was a fun surprise!

2. While there, I made this pumpkin bread and it turned out SO delish! Just a note, I halved the recipe (except for the chocolate chips, of course) and it still made a large loaf.

3. Also, we finally watched Jury Duty and LOVED it. It had us both laughing out loud! If you haven't seen it yet, I totally recommend it. Just a light, funny, quick series.

Fall Finds

There's no debate that fall is the best time of year for outfits! I have far more sweaters than I need but I absolutely love a cozy outfit with a big knit, jeans, booties, and autumnal accessories. I rounded up some of my favorite fall finds, including a perfect suede purse, a chic jacket that comes in a few neutral shades, a classic tennis bracelet with a twist, my favorite lip gloss, a timeless barn jacket, and so many more. 

All of my picks come in at reasonable price points as well!

Hi October! Apologies for getting this up late today; I had the craziest, most fun, but busy weekend! On Friday I attended the absolute most fabulous wedding ever for my gorgeous, lovely friend Taylor, and yesterday went to the ballet with my high school bestie Lauren and our boyfriends. Ohh my gosh, what a weekend, what a month! September began for me in Raleigh, NC visiting my mom, followed by a weekend in Chicago, a week in Spain, and then this final whirlwind wedding weekend. I'm feeling so grateful for all of the lovely people in my life, but also ready for a relaxing, cozy fall ahead.

I think I'm finally done with travel for the year, for the most part. Of course, I'll travel for the holidays, and I think I'll head to Dallas to see Joe once or twice before the end of the year as well, but all of the little trips and vacations are over (for now). I'm happy to spend more time in NYC over the next few months as it's my favorite time of the year, especially here.

Hello September! August slipped away (thank you Taylor Swift), as it always does, along with summer, my birthday, and so many fabulous memories. This month is sure to be another fun one, however, as I am in Raleigh this weekend visiting my mom, I'll be in Chicago next weekend visiting my besties, and then I am heading to Spain for my mom's 60th birthday before attending a friend's wedding at the very end of the month!

This time of year always gives me fresh vibes... cozy, clean sweaters, crisp air, and back to routines. I love a light sweater, jeans, and ballet flats moment and I feel like that just screams September. I love the clean, crisp feeling of "back to reality" and "end of summer" energy and the subtle coziness of a sweater draped over the shoulders, not too hot and not too cold.

Fall Finds Under $100

I planned to share the first Gift Guide today, but I got so distracted while online shopping this morning that I'm back again with another fall finds post. I know this is my third one (first here and second here), but I couldn't believe how many fabulous things I was finding for under $100 (and most under $50!) so I had to share. Maybe we'll start the Gift Guides next week, I wasn't ready yet anyway, haha. (but thank you to everyone who shared Gift Guide requests & ideas on my IG story yesterday - SO helpful, so many great ideas that I'll definitely be using to create this year's assortment!)

Happy November! I hope you all had a fun Halloween yesterday and this past weekend. I had the loveliest weekend away from the city at my aunt's house on Long Island and skipped Halloweekend this year for the fall foliage, farm stands, and Sancerre on a velvet couch. More Fall Finds!

Hello hello! I can't believe we are nearing the end of October. It's been interesting to see how different the seasons are in NYC compared to Wisconsin... here, it's just true fall for October & November, whereas where I'm from, it would go from summer to winter so fast that my fall wardrobe was always synonymous with my winter wardrobe with an exception of just a few short weeks. This year, I am fully into the idea of cute sweaters, skirts, and lighter jackets for the next month or so before it actually gets cold, so I've rounded up additional fall finds in today's post!

This Week's Top 10: Fall Finds

 1. Happy Friday!! I am so excited for this weekend because I flew into Chicago last night and I'm spending the weekend here with my best friends. This morning I've already seen the changing trees, had a pumpkin spice latte, and admired the cute, seasonal front porches of Lincoln Park. I'm not sure if I'd ever live in Chicago, but I do love to visit (fun fact, I lived just outside of Chicago for the first 9 years of my life!).

2. The girls (my best friends Elizabeth and Coco) just moved into this apartment at the beginning of the month with another one of our friends from Milwaukee. It's absolutely adorable and they are doing a great job of decorating! I especially love these sconces Ej put in her bedroom- pic on my stories now if you want all the behind-the-scenes!

3. On Monday my high scchool bestie Caroline who also lives in NYC invited me as her plus one to the annual gala for The Knot! We had so much fun. I wore this gorgeous dress for the black-tie affair- under $200 and was so comfortable and flattering!

This Week's Top 10: Fall Mode Activated

1. Happy Friday & last day of September! I can't believe how fast this month flew by. Firstly, I want to acknowledge the hurricane and everyone impacted in Florida. I hope everyone is staying safe! I can't even begin to imagine how scary it must be to be down there right now, or to be worried about family, friends, and homes in the area.

Fall Fashion Finds

I've been in a major rut with my wardrobe and shopping lately, so I've taken some time over the past few days to round up a selection of pieces that I plan to order and incorporate into my fall wardrobe. In all honesty, I find shopping really hard. I have a difficult time imagining pieces outside of the way they look or are styled in photos, and it makes me unaware to things I could actually get a lot of wear out of or would fit well with pieces I already own. So, I did my best here, and if you struggle with the same thing, hopefully, this [quite large] assortment of pieces I would purchase for fall makes your shopping experience a little bit easier! 

This Week's Top 10: all of the fall things

2. Last night I had a major "romanticize my life" moment. I went on a walk after work through the West Village to see all of the pretty homes and fall decor, and then I stopped at TJ's on my way home where I picked up a pumpkin, gourd, and a few pumpkin beers! I got home and lit my fall candle and read my book while listening to this fabulous fall jazz playlist. I was really living my fall truth. Everything and more!

3. Need to call out my new fall candle: it's AMAZING. I found it at Target on Sunday and it *sparks joy.* The scent sounds bad (pumpkin & cinnamon) but I promise it took me by very pleasant surprise when I sniffed it at the store! I find sweet-smelling/pumpkin spice/vanilla-type scents just gross in my opinion, and this isn't that- it's just fall and fabulous. And it's super cute! And only $15!

This Week's Top 10

 1. After two weeks in Wisconsin, I am officially flying back to the city tomorrow!!! I'm looking forward to it, but I've truly loved being surrounded by nature and plenty of space over the past two weeks.

2. When I get back to my apartment I think I want to do a little decorating for fall! I love these velvet plush pumpkins, and I'm definitely going to pick up some fall candles- this one seems to be a seasonal favorite, but this one and this one look like great options at a lower price point!

70+ Fall Pieces I'm Loving

I haven't been blogging much the last few months, and I've noticed how much less inspired I've felt as a result, especially when it comes to getting dressed. I always have an itch this time each year to step up my outfits, so I thought I'd do a little "research" for all of you and share some of the pieces I've found!

This Week's Top 10: It's October?!

1. Happy Friday and happy first day of October! I've been in Wisconsin all week staying with my boyfriend and it's been truly so lovely to enjoy nature and go for walks that feel so quiet and more peaceful than the city. It's also been such a treat to spend so much time together with Joe! I am supposed to leave on Tuesday but won't be surprised if I move my flight to stay a little bit longer :)

2. I know I say this every month but September just FLEW by. It's especially hard to believe because it's been in the 80s all week! 

3. These have been my dream fall boots for years, and this almost identical pair is about half the price! 

This Week's Top 10: Halloween Weekend!

1. I voted early this week!!! Have you made a plan to vote yet? I found my polling place and voting hours soo easily on this website. 

2. Happy Halloween weekend!!! I know it probably isn't as exciting for many of us as past Halloweens, but I hope you're at least planning on doing something fun or relaxing! Tonight my boyfriend and I are making bucatini with my family's famous homemade meatball recipe! 

3. I decided this week to host a small friendsgiving in a few weeks! I am so excited and already thinking about how I want to set the table. These napkins are the cutest ever. Definitely considering this centerpiece, this simple tablecloth, these cute plates, and these.... place cards.... so chic. 

Easy Fall Transition Outfit

Although it's mid-October, the weather is still pretty warm here in Wisconsin. I'm so happy not to be wrapped up in a puffer quite yet, but I have had to get a little creative dressing for these warmer fall temps. I'm so used to it already being fifty below this time of year!
