Easy Fall Transition Outfit

Although it's mid-October, the weather is still pretty warm here in Wisconsin. I'm so happy not to be wrapped up in a puffer quite yet, but I have had to get a little creative dressing for these warmer fall temps. I'm so used to it already being fifty below this time of year! Introducing: an easy, seasonally appropriate fall outfit idea: sweater + shorts.

Recreating Outfits from Pinterest + Instagram

So.... they kind of lifted the stay-at-home policy in Wisconsin last night. A few weeks ago when I was in Madison I saw a lot of protestors around the capital and figured it would be a matter of time until the rules for sheltering at home were loosened at least a little bit. Although things won't be going back to complete normalcy any time soon, this gives us a bit of home that we are coming out of quarantine sooner rather than later! I thought it might help me (and hopefully, you!) get inspired to head back out into the world by recreating some cute outfits I've seen on Pinterest and Instagram lately. After all, it's been like two months of leggings and sweatpants, and I've kind of forgotten what real clothes are like.

The Best Puffer Ever

Yesterday I had a little work sesh with my friend Koryn, which meant shooting a few photos and spending a couple of hours working at our fave coffee shop! I always love spending time with Koryn because she just gives off such good vibes and I always leave her feeling refreshed and inspired, and usually with a few Instagram photos to post ;)

I wore my faux leather puffer and decided it is worthy of an entire blog post. You guys... this puffer. It is the best thing I own.

I bought it a couple of months ago on Bloomingdales, where it is still available in most sizes and colors! However, now it is available at over 50% off in a few sizes and colors here!! Even at full price, you'd be shocked at the quality you're getting with this puffer... it is by far the warmest coat I own! Even warmer than my parka!! And because it's faux leather, it stays dry and cozy when it's sleeting, snowing, or just wet and gross outside.

For size reference, I am wearing it in a size small. It is meant to be a little oversized and roomy, so I would suggest taking your normal size, or down one size if you're in between (I'm usually a size small or medium in everything, hence I took the small).

Not only is it so cute and warm, but it goes with everything! I have gotten endless compliments on it, and I think everyone needs it!!

And just because we're here, this is the beanie I've been wearing all season long. It's only $10 and I love it.

Easter Inspiration + RTR Update

Happy Monday! This past weekend I was selecting my next round of pieces from Rent the Runway and got so inspired by the selection of Easter egg-hued styles. I decided to pull together a little roundup of pretty spring pieces that would look amazing for not only Easter, but any spring event! RTR has the fastest shipping, so if you're still looking for something to wear this coming weekend I would totally recommend checking out their available styles in particular!

Spring Edit

I was looking through some old blog posts from last spring when I rediscovered this "spring edit" that I did. I find it really interesting to see how my style evolves year after year, but the basis of what I love typically remains the same. I'll always be partial to a great pair of jeans, classic sunglasses, and a cool pair of white sneaks. Although it isn't quite yet spring, the weather this weekend was so sunny and finally above 30 degrees (lol, literally felt like a heat wave!) and with spring break at the end of this week, I'm hoping to finally put away my parka once midterms are over!

Current Style Staples

You might recognize this snap from Instagram about a month ago that I shared in collaboration with FILA. I love a neutral outfit, especially when it's a comfortable one that incorporates a great pair of jeans and sneakers. I'm going to stop saying I hate everything in my wardrobe for a minute and chat about why I love each of the pieces in this outfit.

Winter Style Inspiration

Yesterday I shared that I'm planning to sell a good chunk of my wardrobe on Poshmark! So now, I think it would be fitting to show a little outfit inspiration of what I'd love to be wearing this season instead. I always find myself gravitating towards the same things... a simple sweater, my favorite jeans, and a staple accessory like boots and a coat that's a little bit of a step up from your average piece of outerwear. However, I'm tired of my same old pieces, and I think these options are much better fit! I came up with three different concepts that I absolutely adore right now.

Black and White with Denim

One of my favorite parts about summer is the opportunity to wear white all. the. time. I am a neutral clothing connoisseur and would prefer to wear all-white ensembles or denim with black, white, and light blue or blush pieces everyday if the seasons never changed.

Outfit Roundup from Insta Stories (Vol. I)

Today I'm compiling a lot of my recent outfits from Insta stories and linking where to shop similar pieces. Having a relatively "manageable" following on Instagram (not sure of a better word for it), I don't get an overflow of DM's everyday, but I always get at least a few questions about where pieces are from that I share in my stories. I try to post my outfits daily, especially when I'm going to my internship, because I think that serves as particularly useful inspiration for what to wear in a situation that is new to a lot of girls my age!

Spring Steals Under $70

With spring break coming up and all of the new arrivals in my favorite stores, it's so hard to save my money for London and not buy every cute thing I've been finding lately! My favorite solution... finding a few cute pieces I love at a great price point so I can get excited about new pieces without going crazy.

The Pink Coat EVERYONE Needs

I usually do "This Week's Top 10" on Fridays, but because I haven't posted in a week I wanted to share a more "exciting" post today as we head into Christmas weekend! How did that happen?! Just a week ago I was freaking out about finals and now I'm freaking out about how I'm going to pack for Dallas, head to my best friend's birthday party tonight, shop for last-minute gifts, and make it to the airport all before 9 AM tomorrow.

Favorite Fashion Week Street Style Looks

Fashion month is officially over. September, I can't thank you enough for sharing such incredible street style ensembles season after season. When it comes to the last four weeks of fashion week in New York, Paris, London, and Milan, the street style looks are never ending, and they most definitely never cease to amaze. Scrolling through the content on Vogue during the month of September is almost surreal that so many incredible and cool It girls can look that fabulous. Am I right, or am I right?!

3 Outfits to Recreate This Fall

We experienced an 80 degree day here in Wisconsin yesterday. Not only is that pretty rare to occur even in the summer, but being almost halfway through September had me convinced I'd be layering on my sweaters by now! I guess I will just have to prepare for fall through Pinterest for the next few weeks. After all, fall is short and Wisconsin winters aren't my favorite, so I can't complain about these last days of sunshine. When fall does roll in, however, here are some outfits I want to recreate:

Internship Outfits (from Insta Stories!) Round-Up

Hey guys! I hope your day is off to a good start! I am excited to write this post because sharing my daily outfit on Instagram stories each morning is something fun that I've been doing for a majority of the summer thus far, and I didn't realize how much you guys liked it until I got so many DM's on Friday about my dress (pictured above). So, I want to go ahead and actually link up some of the pieces I wear and similar styles for those of you that might be curious to shop my outfits.

Summer Whites

I originally had a different post planned for today, but after shooting a few outfits yesterday afternoon with my best friend Elizabeth (aka future roomie at University of Wisconsin!!!) I couldn't resist getting this outfit up as soon as possible. I talked about both this t-shirt and these linen pants in a Top 10 post a few weeks ago, and I just couldn't help myself, I had to have them! Not only are both of these pieces probably the most comfortable things you could ever wear, but the material is amazing on both, and the white is incredibly versatile for summer. I chose to style the pieces together with this amazing oyster necklace from Sea Dipped (not kidding when I say I'm obsessed with Sea Dipped... I think their jewelry is so cool, and each sale saves 10 baby sea turtles!! Omg.) and other simple gold accessories, but I totally plan on knot-tying the t-shirt and pair it with flowy shorts, and even trying the pants with a striped tee.

Outfit Ideas for Class (That Aren't Leggings!)

I think it's time I admit that I have a problem when it comes to getting dressed for class. I am always in leggings or workout clothes, and I don't think I've ever done my hair intentionally to look half-put together for my 9 AM's. Never mind that the most makeup you'll find on me is a swipe of mascara and maybe some chapstick on a good time. It's becoming a serious issue. I need to pull it together. Maybe with a little outfit inspiration, I might be inspired to ditch the leggings and put on a just-as-easy outfit with jeans and a sweater. Plus, putting on "real" clothes shouldn't mean sacrificing comfort! With a cozy sweater and cute and comfortable shoes, it's really like a nicer version of your homeless-man outfit ;)

Outfit 1: sweater // watch // skinny jeans (BDG jeans are the best)
slip-ons (i have these and love them!)

Outfit 2: wrap sweater // long necklace // distressed jeans // flats (only $50!)

Which outfit is your favorite? What does your typical class attire look like? I'd love some ideas!

4 Jackets I Want Right Now

Something about heading back to Pennsylvania after spending a whole month in Wisconsin where the temperatures rarely hit double digits made me think, for some reason, that Wisconsin was the only cold place in the country and I'd immediately escape winter once I was back on campus. Unfortunately, it's only January, and jackets/coats/outerwear in general are going to be necessary for a few more months still, no matter if you're on the East Coast or in the Midwest. That said, I was definitely inspired throughout rush with everyone's perfected outfits, and I found myself lusting over quite a few coats and jackets that girls had on.

Here are four that I wish I could add to my closet right now:

Thanksgiving Outfit + Recipe Ideas

How is Thanksgiving just one week away?!

I'm heading to Dallas on Wednesday, which means we are celebrating the holiday at my Dad's new house for the first time! It's going to be a small one, just my brother and I are flying in. I've actually never been to Texas before, so this whole trip will emulate a lot of "firsts" for me.

Thanksgiving specifically will also be the first time that my dad has hosted for just us, so my aunts and my grandma won't be there to take charge of all of the cooking. Don't be fooled, yours truly is probably going to wind up doing most of the work, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't super excited about that. I've missed cooking a lot, and having a chance to cook whatever I want now that I'll be away from school for a few days is really giving me something to look forward to! I've already started looking up recipes and getting excited to be back in a real kitchen with real ingredients all at my fingertips...

This is just a taste of what I'm thinking of doing for our Thanksgiving:

How yummy do all of these recipes look?! I'm so excited just to eat healthy foods with clean and real ingredients again... ugh, my mouth is watering!

Another fun part of the holiday is having the whole family look festive and cute at the table in fall outfits. I pulled a little Thanksgiving outfit inspiration today as well:

Omg, I want. it. all. The velvet trend is killing it right now, and imagining those pretty lace-up velvet flats with corduroys and a gorgeous bell sleeve sweater sounds like the most chic outfit ensemble you could do! That outfit is also a dressier way to wear pants if your Thanksgiving is nice but still on the casual side of things.

Of course, with all of the eating to be done, oversized sweaters are the way to go. I love both the funnel neck / mock neck style, and a good, classic slouchy v-neck .. I definitely have overdone it in my wardrobe when it comes to cream colored sweaters, but I just need to conclude that the limit does not exist for those babes. Pair with casual ripped denim and booties or over-the-knee boots  and you've got an easy combo. Everything also would be so, so cute cozied up with a plaid wrap and that sleek velvet watch... I need!!

What are you planning to wear on Thanksgiving?

Buffalo Check + Cold-Shoulder Cable Knit

Happy Halloween!! I wish I was sharing something a little more festive today, but I really have no particularly exciting Halloween updates... unfortunately. Buuut, the end of October for me always feels like a very fall time, so in lieu of Halloween, here's a quintessential fall outfit for ya!

Easy Fall Outfit Combos

Yesterday at Lehigh we had Open Houses for all of the panhellenic sororities here on campus. This basically means any of the freshman girls interested in Greek Life and rushing a sorority next semester came out and we were split into groups where we visited each of the nine sorority chapters. The day was pretty long and really tiring talking to three girls one-on-one for twenty minutes at each house without breaks, but it was fun to get a chance to see each house and the vibe of the girls inside. I definitely have a good idea of which house I want to rush and I am excited for the whole process in January... I think rush will be a great way for me to start to feel more at home here at Lehigh!

With events like these comes a little stress of what to wear, but I am definitely more comfortable creating outfits in the fall than during any other season because so many of my clothes are neutral and easy to layer and mix and match. I wore my favorite boots, black pants, and my Barbour with a light sweater since it's finally starting to get chilly out. However, I noticed a really cute trend on campus is moto pants paired with booties and a cute sweater or poncho! I created a few combinations of that look below. I am really into the moto pants look and I'm dying to add a cute poncho and a new pair of booties to my wardrobe.
