27 in NYC!

Fran Acciardo 27th Birthday Recap

Last week I celebrated my 27th birthday here in NYC! It was such a fun celebration; I did the exact same thing that I did last year for my birthday. I really feel like I've cracked the code on how to have a fabulous mid-week birthday in the city that feels really special, even if it's only a Wednesday.

The End of an Era! (and the start of a new one!)

On Monday I officially moved out of my Soho apartment! My first apartment in NYC will always hold a special place in my heart; I moved into it sight-unseen after graduating from college and moving out of my house in Wisconsin. My brother drove me from Wisconsin to NYC in U-Haul, a two day trip that resulted in calling my perfect little one-bedroom home for the past three years.

My entire life I wanted to move to NYC after graduation. I always knew I wanted to be a city girlie, and the opportunity to live by myself in a precious apartment downtown is something I couldn't be more grateful for. I got so lucky with my apartment, and it shaped the first few years of my New York experience in the best way possible. I'll always remember this apartment so, so, so fondly. From my pink coffee tables to my naked barbies, all of the dinner parties and happy hours, the simple joys of living alone, and everything else I got to experience during my time my Soho, I'm sad to close this chapter of being an independent city girl, but excited for what's next.

Two years ago yesterday, my brother drove me from Wisconsin to NYC in a U-Haul, and two years ago today we rolled up to my sight-unseen, crazy covid deal, 400 square foot one-bedroom apartment in SoHo (with a dishwasher!). The past two years have been some of the happiest years of my life so far. I feel like myself more than ever, and I really, really like my life.

Weekend Recap with my Mom! (Lots of NYC Recs!)

Weekend Recap with my Mom! (Lots of NYC Recs!) - Tin Building
I am heading to Palm Beach today! Before I go, I need to recap last weekend here in the city. My mom came to NYC last weekend for a visit, and it was so much fun. My mom had visited me once before, Christmas 2021, but it was such a busy time in the city and with family for the holiday, that I felt like she was overdue for a true weekend in the city. Ironically enough, we spent the majority of our time in Brooklyn, but it was still so much fun. Of course, we ate some really great food!

NYC Recs: Last Week in NYC with Joe & my Dad

Last week my Dad and Joe both visited me in NYC!

My dad was in town Tuesday-Friday after spending a weekend in Hudson. My grandpa lives in Brazil half the year and Brooklyn the other half, so it worked out well that my dad could see me, my grandpa, and my aunts who live nearby all in one trip. He hadn't been in the city since last Labor Day when we were in the Hamptons and spent one night in the city with my grandpa. It was so fun to have him here, and then Joe arrived late on Wednesday night for a bit of overlap!

Girls Weekend: Recap & NYC Recs

Girls Weekend: Recap & NYC Recs Fran Acciardo

This post is definitely overdue, but I wanted to share another girls' weekend recap from Memorial Day weekend. Our itinerary ended up being perfect, and I have some great recommendations for you! Two of my best friends, Elizabeth and Coco, visited me in NYC and we had such a great time kicking off summer in the city. Here's what we did:

Spring Weekend with Joe Recap

My boyfriend Joe visited me here in NYC this weekend and we had such a lovely time. It was a casual little weekend, which was a nice change of pace considering we usually have extravagant plans whenever he is in town. We only made a couple of reservations ahead of time and then mostly just hung out, walked around, and explored. Here's a recap of what we did!

Whenever I get asked about my favorite spots in New York, or for recommendations around the city in a general sense, I feel like I never know what to say or don't have the time to go into enough detail via DM or text. While I have a couple of blog posts on different restaurants I've tried and enjoyed (find them here!), if you're visiting the city for a weekend or aren't super familiar with NYC, you might just want something with exclusively the highlights... so, welcome to this blog post!

This post was inspired by recent DM's, but also that I realized I have never shared a weekend recap of my weekends with Joe when he comes to visit me in NYC!!  This needs to change *immediately,* because we truly have the best weekends together and have discovered some of my favorite, favorite spots in the city during the times when he is here. He is coming next weekend and I hope to recap the whole thing in detail, along with all of his visits going forward! I used to always do a vacation recap whenever I went anywhere, and I even did a girls' weekend recap post when my college roomies/best friends Coco and EJ visited me in December, so I have no idea how I've let this happen...

All of the breakfast, lunch, dinner & drinks spots can be found on this google map here!

Recap: The Best NYC Girls' Weekend - fran acciardo washington square park christmas tree

Happy happy Christmas week!! I haven’t written a blog post in a couple of weeks because I have been up to so many things, but before we get into full Christmas / New Year’s mode, I wanted to recap a few of those fun things with all of you!

Two weekends ago two of my best friends/college roommates, Elizabeth and Coco, visited me for a long weekend. We had the *best* girls weekend and I wanted to share all of the fun things we did and places we went.

Last weekend my boyfriend Joe visited me, so that recap will be coming in my next post, ASAP! Joe and I had a very festive, lovely weekend and I can’t wait to share that recap with you as well.

13 NYC Restaurants, Bars & Cafes I Love

fran acciardo 12 nyc restaurants, bars, and cafe's i would recommend nyc spots

It's been a few months since I last shared a round-up of NYC spots I love and would recommend. It's also been a few weeks since my last blog post, so hi! I've missed you, and I'm excited to share some places I've been trying in the past few weeks that I've been ignoring you (sorry, love you! lol). In this post, I've broken down the spots into three categories: restaurants/bars, just for drinks, and cafes/breakfast spots. Would love to hear if you've been to any of these spots and what you thought, or if there's a spot I absolutely need to try!

10 (Downtown) NYC Restaurants I've Recently Tried

This past weekend in NYC was the BEST. My best friend Elizabeth was in town and we had so much fun trying new restaurants, shopping, wearing cute outfits, making tik toks, and doing everything of the sort. I thought it would be fun to share the restaurants we tried, in addition to a few that I've tried with others recently before I forget the spots! Enjoy xo

A Moving Recap & First Weeks in NYC Update

Hi! On Monday I published my moving vlog on YouTube, and I feel obligated to share a little bit of an additional recap and some extra details here for all of you real ones. If you have not yet checked out the video, please do! I share some clips from driving across the country in a U-Haul with my brother, arriving in NYC and my reaction to seeing my apartment for the first time, as well as an empty apartment tour!

I Signed a Lease in NYC! (Answering all of your Questions)

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that on Monday I signed a lease for an apartment in New York City!!!
