Playlist: At The Beach With You

I made a playlist that makes me want to cry and go for a drive and crave summer all at the same time.  I'm so obsessed with it that I couldn't wait until next week to share it!!! I don't know why I did this (or how), but somehow I made this playlist, and it reminds me of this one day at the beach a few years ago. It makes me think of sand, lying in a hammock, going for a drive without shoes on, wearing jean shorts, and getting milkshakes...

Current // February Playlist

Introducing my current playlist: loveR&Bean! I've been super into R&B lately, so my February playlist is silky, smooth vibes!

Playlist // The Good Kind of Sad

One of my goals for my blog this year is to share more of my playlists! In 2019 I started making monthly playlists, as well as a few random playlists for certain kinds of ~vibes~. I absolutely love creating playlists, and I spend far more hours on Spotify than I'd like to admit. Today I am sharing a little playlist that I've titled, "The Good Kind of Sad," because what better day to share than on my last first day of school (!!!) when I'm feeling all kinds of {good kinds of} sad.

My Fall ~Vibey~ Playlist!

Oh, I can't even begin to describe how elated I am that it finally looks, feels, and smells like fall over here!!! Fall is by far my favorite season. Big sweaters, crisp air... it's so precious. This month I've been adding songs to my monthly playlist as always, but I also made a bigger, seasonal, fall ~vibes~ playlist that I wanted to share. It's actually a continuation of an OG playlist of mine, but I just love the vibes it gives off. It's the kind of indie/folk/alternative, chill, mellow, but just really quality music that makes you feel like putting on a huge sweater to go for a walk and get a latte. Ugh. I can't stop listening to it!

Specific artists I am especially into: Mt. Joy, The Head and the Heart, Whitney, and Shakey Graves. Of course, these are some of my all-time favorite bands anyway, but especially in the fall they just fit my mood so well.

Are there any artists that put you in the fall mood?

xoxo

July Playlist + New Music Releases

Helloooooo my favorite month of the year! It's August!!!!! Happy leo sznnnnn! I'm biased because it's my birthday month, but I really do love August. Every year this means fun vacations, the end of whatever summer job I've been up to, and this year, the excitement of turning 21. In Wisconsin this also means it's finally perfect summer weather... in the 70s most days and not too hot like it has been for the last couple of weeks!

June Playlist + New Music Releases

Helloooo and happy JULY!! What??? How has this summer gone so fast? Today marks the fifth week of my internship and the eighth week of my summer. There were so many new music releases by some of my favorite artists this month that I have to share the playlist I made for June. When am I not obsessed with my monthly playlists?! (here's my May playlist if you want to check it out!) This particular playlist is pretty easy, lowkey, but chill and almost upbeat?!

May Playlist: WTF Do People Do In May?

HI! Wow, yesterday's blog post was kind of a lot. Today I want to lighten the mood and share my May Playlist as this month comes to a close. Last month I shared my April playlist and enjoyed giving you all a glimpse into my music taste. I am quite a melophile (lol, I googled this term-- melo means music and phile is a suffix for fanatic/enthusiast); constantly discovering new music and developing playlists, so I want to continue to share them here!

April Playlist

At the beginning of this year I inadvertently began making monthly playlists on my Spotify and they've been such a great way to mix up the music I listen to. I have a bad habit of overplaying songs until I can't stand them anymore, so this is an easy way to ensure I rotate between at least 30-40 songs throughout the month. I usually update the playlist whenever I find new songs during the month, but recently I discovered a good amount of songs so I just decided to add them to an April playlist a little early!

The photo above is very irrelevant here, but I am working on my Mexico recap and can't wait to share more details about my trip last week!

This Week's Top 10: Pregame Playlist

cher is me at our pregames
HAHA

Happy Friday! I am so excited to head back to school today. I haven't done an edition of This Week's Top 10 yet in 2019 because as the year went on last year they seemed to be less and less loved by you guys. So, I thought it would be more fun and interesting to change it up in 2019 and try to give each top 10 a theme. In honor of heading back to school today and going out tonight, I want to share my current 10 favorite pregame/party songs!

Red Dress + Current Playlist

Happy Monday! This weekend I ventured up to Madison to get the last of my things out of my apartment before I move into my new one next Friday. I went to Madison with my brother since he'd never been on Madison's campus before and wanted to see it before he goes abroad this semester. My brother has always had the best taste in music, in my opinion, and played songs the whole way there and back that I was completely loving. He has had a radio show on his campus's radio station since his freshman year, and now that he's going to be a senior, he's the manager of the whole station. He's much more into rap, jazz, and hip hop than I am, but I loved the songs he was playing in the car.

My Christmas Playlist + New Favorite Headphones

Tracking Pixel

I'm excited to be partnering with Motorola today to share some of my favorite holiday songs on my Christmas playlist! Every year when Thanksgiving passes I immediately break out my Christmas music, and it never fails to instantly put me in the holiday spirit. I have quickly fallen in love with the Christmas Classical Piano playlist on Spotify, which could not be more perfect for studying during finals around the holidays, but I'll never grow tired of my classic holiday playlist when I’m just hanging out or blogging, especially. My new favorite way to enjoy Christmas music: my Motorola Pulse Escape headphones.

Fourth of July Playlist

Happy Fourth of July!!! I am excited to spend the day at the lake, watch the fireworks, and just enjoy summer in the best country in the world ;) I absolutely love country music in the summer (and only in the summer!) so I will without a doubt be listening to my favorites all day long out on the water. I thought it would be fun to share my favorite country music today in case any of you need a patriotic playlist to blast at your barbecue, backyard party, or other festivities!

Red Hot Chili Peppers Weekend Recap

This weekend was so incredibly fun. Besides being perfect weather, I got to escape from Bethlehem for a few days with one of my best college friends! She is from Long Island, so I got to explore a different part of Long Island than I'm familiar with, and then we saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Saturday night!!!! The concert was incredibly. Seriously, it was insane. I can't even describe it! They're so cool in real life and they played every single classic/famous/old song of theirs, which was really fun to hear because I wasn't expecting that.

A few photos...

We took an early afternoon bus out from school straight into the city on Friday just in time for an early dinner before continuing on the train to Long Island. We stopped for pasta at Il Punto in the Garment District and it was delicious!

When we got to Long Island we dropped off our backs and hopped in my friend's car to head to the mall and do a little last-minute concert-outfit shopping. I couldn't help but swoon over the bridal section of Nordstrom... typical.

We ended up getting back to her house, watching movies, falling asleep on the couch, and not rallying until noon on Saturday!

Buuuut, Saturday was the. best. day. We got New York bagels and iced coffees, drove around her town (it's a beach town, so it was gorgeous) and blasted music as I got to explore. One of her best friends from high school was also home for the weekend for the concert, so she tagged along too, which was so fun.

Her beach.... so cute.

Tomato + mozz + balsamic on a croissant = my weakness.

After a few more relaxing hours, we ventured back into the city for the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS!!!

Unreal. So unreal. Words can't even describe.
I think I am going to work on making a master video of the videos I took at the concert to commemorate the night... If I do (which let's be real, I'll probably never get around to it), I will be sure to share it here!

A little Sunday morning brunchin' to follow... We went to this cool spot in Astoria called "create" where I had a quinoa bowl with egg whites, avocado, black beans, and chipotle, and then a delicious smoothie on the side! The smoothie sounded kind of intriguing so I had to order it... I think it was avocado, banana, pineapple and almond milk! Pretty simple, but I was fascinated about avocado in a smoothie. I would definitely recommend! So refreshing with the pineapple and super creamy.

After, we did a little bit of exploring in Astoria Park, which was also new to me. Her cousin lives in Astoria and came to the concert with us, so we stayed with her Saturday night which was both fun and super convenient. The weather was perfect so we walked around the park a bit before rushing back to school in time to finish all our homework.

Overall, it was a short, quick, and eventful weekend, but so, so fun. I can't believe I got to see the chili peppers in real life too!!

How was your weekend?
xoxo

February Playlist

Hello, hellooooo! Happy February! I'm excited to post another playlist today, because these are some of the posts that I am most passionate about, and I have so much fun selecting songs from my current queue to share. Now that I'm in a sorority we have to go out more than I was used to last semester, so I've definitely been hearing a lot more party music at the frats and such, haha. This playlist, therefore, is definitely a little more upbeat than my usual chill/lowkey/mellow stuff. But take a listen and let me know how you like it....

What's on your current playlist?

January Playlist

By now, you guys have probably figured out that I'm a freak about my music. I have the strangest taste in music... like, I'll listen to country, rap, and the Rolling Stones all in one playlist, or then I'll go on a run with Mumford & Sons on repeat but I'll be getting ready for bed and I'll wind down to Bad & Boujee... I'm telling ya, it's kind of all over the place.

That's one reason I'm excited to share this playlist today: It makes sense. A few of these songs are newer / more "pop" type songs, but for the most part we have some classic alternative bands that are my tried and true favorites. Cases in point: Milky Chance and Florence. Can we all just take a second to acknowledge how outstanding Florence's rendition of Stand By Me is?! Seriously, if you haven't heard it yet, drop everything and listen now (it should pop up in the embedded playlist within this post too). She did this for the movie "Final Fantasy XV," which looks a little strange in my opinion, but the song itself is stellar. Oh, and because I'm still me and couldn't make a playlist completely normal, I did throw the Stone in there #noshame #dadtaste ;)

Drop me a comment on these two thoughts:
1. What's your favorite song right now? (or favorite song on this playlist!)
2. Would you like to see more playlists throughout the year?

Study Playlist

I have spent a lot of time in the libraries at school since I've been here and I always wind up on Pandora with my headphones in cranking out work for hours once I get in the zone. Getting in the zone of focus means getting out of the zone of distractions, so for me, it is essential to block out any and all outside noises and listen to low-key music that I enjoy but all doesn't distract me. My go-to Pandora station is Alt-J, because I love that the songs are chill without making me tired or having distracting lyrics, they're more just cool beats and vibes that make studying so much easier!

Enjoy the playlist below (it's organized by song title//artist), and throw any song suggestions my way! I love discovering new music and I want to know what you're all listening to!

Airplane Playlist

I'm so excited to fly out to New Orleans for spring break this morning. One of my favorite things about traveling is flying. Honestly, I love flying. I know airports, airport security, and planes in general really stress out some people, but I love the whole experience. Airports mean travel, travel means vacation, and new places and exploring the world is just one of my favorite things to do! (My phone automatically connects to the Chicago O'Hare wi-fi, and you already know when your phone connects to the wi-fi somewhere it's basically a second home...)

Another bonus about flying? I love how being on an airplane makes me feel so inspired. Something about being in the sky with virtually nothing to do or distract you from your thoughts is so peaceful, and really gives you so much time to just think about things and get inspired! I created this playlist because I love listening to chill music on planes, but also kind of upbeat songs that get me excited for wherever I'm headed!

What are you listening to as of late? Have a great Monday!

Fall Playlist

I've been listening to music lately more than I usually do... maybe it's because I've been going on more jogs or simply because I press play on my iPhone when I'm just sitting at my desk, which isn't something I usually do. Or... maybe it's because I've finally found a good mix of songs that I love!

I've finally caught onto the trend and I am obsessed with Lorde! Team is probably my favorite song by her, with Tennis Court a close second. It's so weird to think she is basically my age, yet so talented! On another hand, Riptide is my favorite song on here. You must listen to it if you haven't yet!

xoxo

PS- No school today! Wahoo!
