If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that on Monday I signed a lease for an apartment in New York City!!! I did a Q&A on my IG stories sharing some details about my apartment and the process (saved to highlights if you missed it), and I'm excited to document all of that and more on here today. Let's just jump right in!

24 Hours in New York City
8/17/19
I chose to split up my recaps between my weekend in the Hamptons and my two days in the city. Although both are obviously in New York, they're so different to me that it doesn't really make sense to combine them. My adventures in the city were pretty quick, but still fun, as always. Let's get into it!
Hamptons Weekend Recap
8/16/19
Returning home from New York late Wednesday night was bittersweet, as it always is! The long weekends I spend on the East Coast with my dad and his family each August are trips I look forward to all year long! It’s crazy how I wait and wait for these weekends to roll around every summer, and then they just go by so fast.
Off to New York!
8/10/19
Ah!!!!! I can't believe my internship actually ended yesterday and by the time this goes up I'll be in New York for the weekend. I've been looking forward to this trip all summer and I'm so excited to see my dad's side of the family and spend the weekend in the Hamptons!
New York Recap
1/17/19
Hellloooo! Today I'm excited to share a little recap from my trip to New York last week. This trip was primarily for school, but my dad ended up surprising me and coming to town for the weekend, and I also hung out with a few friends from Lehigh which is always fun! Even though I had to change my flight last minute and come home a day earlier than expected, it was so worth it. I was really stressed about the trip in the days leading up to it, but it ended up being really fun and a brand-new NYC experience for me. Sometimes I feel like going to New York loses its charm for me because I'm there so often, so I loved how I got to do different things this time around.

3. I'm in love with these $10 sunglasses.
Okay... this is it, I promise. I didn't intend for this trip to get split up into three separate recaps (Part I here + Part II here) but I just crammed so much into my 10 days in New York that I didn't want to leave anything out!
New York Recap: Part II
8/16/17
Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I was at work this morning when the power went out, so I had a little bit of a break in my morning to get this post up since I didn't have time to last night. Although I am technically working "remotely" right now, a lot of the stuff I have to work on can't be accessed on outside computers (something we maybe should have looked into before now, ha). Anyways, here is Part II of my trip recap to New York two weeks ago. If you missed Part I, you can read that here!
New York Recap: Part I
8/15/17
I am so excited to recap the first half of my trip to New York! I went on a huge trip last summer for Rhode Island, Maine, and New York and never got around to recapping it, so I wanted to be sure to do that this time around... This year alone I have recapped my trips to Vermont, Miami, and Easter in New York and I have been recapping almost all of my vacations in the past few years on this blog. If anything, it's a useful travel guide for any of you and a fun memory to me!
This Week's Top 10
8/4/17
1. My trip to New York has been nothing short of fabulous thus far! I arrived last Friday and I am leaving this Sunday. It has been the perfect amount of time to do everything I want and everything that I enjoy doing in the city, but also just enough time to make me want to head back home at the end of it all. By far the best parts have been reuniting with my best friend from Lehigh (pictured above) and celebrating my Dad's birthday at the Polo bar. A full recap to come!
2. I wore the shirt above to the Kings of Leon concert on Tuesday night and got so many compliments; I love it!
3. I also have been wearing these shorts non-stop, and they are so incredibly comfortable since I sized up... like, I'm probably never gonna take them off until I've worn them down to threads.

how amazing are Sara's pictures from the flatiron?!
1. I am leaving for New York this afternoon after my internship! I am so excited to spend a weekend in the Hamptons and next week in Manhattan! Here's a sneak peek of what I'm packing.

2. An incredible travel guide to Nice, France. Nice is definitely in my top 3 destinations and this post gave me such wanderlust!
3. Speaking of wanderlust, this guide to the Greek Islands is something I can only dream of!

If you've been following on my blog for the past, like, 6 summers, you might be familiar with my always spontaneous jaunts to the east coast each August. Last summer I took the most incredible trip to New York, Rhode Island, and Maine for two weeks with my dad, boyfriend and brother to celebrate my 18th birthday and high school graduation. Tomorrow I am heading to New York City and the Hamptons (and Long Island for a bit!) to see some of my best friends from Lehigh, see Kings of Leon in concert, celebrate my dad's birthday, and just hang out. For the majority of the 10-ish days that I will be gone I will be on my own, but I am excited to just see my dad even if only for a few days (he moved to Dallas just about a year ago!) and hang out in one of my favorite cities! Not to mention, seeing a few of my friends and one of my favorite bands in concert doesn't hurt ;) I've missed my Lehigh girlfriends and I am excited to see Kings of Leon live!
Your Avocado Toast Guide to NYC
4/26/17
While I was consuming guac the other day (who's surprised?), I realized it's pretty obvious how much I love avocado toast, given that I talk about it on the blog at least once a week. I've been in New York a lot this year, and I always make avocado toast a brunch priority during my time in the city. What's better than an avocado toast guide in one of the best cities in the world?!
Of course, I haven't tried all of the toasts out there, so if you have a favorite avo toast in New York, you must share it with me! As for now, here are the places I'd recommend:

Weekend Recap
4/20/17
Hi everyone! I am happy to say that I handed in my research paper, took a test, and finished a few other assignments just yesterday. I thought I would finally feel like I had a little bit more time on my hands, but of course, with there being less than four weeks left of school, things are just go-go-go. Next Wednesday I have another exam, tonight I am photographing an event at school for almost five hours... the list never ends!
But, I still wanted to sit down and take time to share my Easter weekend recap, because I love doing these kinds of posts, and I hate going a whole week without new content on the blog! So without further adieu, let's get into it!
I'm Back: Life Recap
3/7/17
HELLO!! I want to apologize first off for taking off over an entire week of blogging. Let me preface this by saying this blog post is coming to you from a lovely school library computer that works faster than my Macbook Pro has ever worked in the last.... year? It's a frustration to say the least.
Let's start at the beginning because I want to catch you all up, and hopefully you'll leave a comment down below with what's new with all of you as well! This is always more fun when things work like a two-way street, and I've especially missed your comments and emails since I've been MIA this past week.
So... Where have I been? What have I been up to? On Thursday I was in class on my laptop when it froze up and the horrible little spinning wheel would not stop spinning. However, it was frozen for longer than usually and I decided it would be faster just to restart my laptop than keep waiting. When my laptop came to turn back on in the restart, instead of the Apple popping up it was a blinking folder with a question mark, what Apple Support later told me meant that my computer couldn't find it's hard drive. Ummm.... My laptop basically told me I had four different ways to restore it. How fun does that sound?!
Luckily, the majority of my schoolwork was already completed and I didn't need my laptop that badly for the weekend. I had two tests last Monday and one on Wednesday, plus I had already finished a lot of my homework because Jack was coming Thursday night! Oh, did I mention I was also crazy busy heading up to the APhi house everyday to get my big little baskets?!
Thursday afternoon after a few hours on the phone with Apple (always a pleasure), I borrowed a friend's car and drove out to Newark Airport to pick up Jack!!!! Okay can I just real quick say that I know Bethlehem, PA isn't the most exciting place, but this drive was actually beautiful. I've done the drive a few times with my parents when visiting/moving into Lehigh, but it had always been at night when it was dark out. I had missed the Delaware river, mountains, and all of the trees and scenery. It was a pretty enjoyable hour~ in the car by myself. And, let's be real, what college student doesn't miss driving and blasting their own music in the car?
After getting Jack from the airport we went back to Lehigh and I showed him around a bit. We had a chill night on Thursday because we were both super tired (he had to wake up at 4:30 AM!) and then did more fun things on Friday. I had class Friday morning, but we got brunch after and then I showed him around more of my school.
Friday night was Big/Little Reveal (!!!) and I met my TWIN, big, big big, gg big, and my ggg big (the one who just graduated!) all on Friday night. It was so much fun and Jack got to tag along to the party as well. Omg.... I looooove my lineage ;)

-- I plan to do a separate post that is just an Alpha Phi update. Let me know if you'd like something like that! --

Saturday, Jack and I went to New York and surprise, surprise, we didn't miss our bus! We actually planned to take an 8:45 AM but due to the events of the evening we opted for the 11 AM instead, lol. We arrived in New York around 1 and went to one of my favorite brunch spots, Little Collins! If you haven't been to Little Collins, it's located in Midtown and it's tiny but does their little menu perfectly. Oh, and they serve coffee in glass cups. It's so cute. I wrote about it here also!

I, of course, got the avocado toast (I love it there, that's what made me want to go back on Saturday morning!) and Jack got this french toast with butterscotch banana thing... It was so good. I was also a little bit jealous that his brunch order was prettier than mine. Not gonna lie.
We went to my aunt's apartment after to hang out with her and help make dinner. You might've seen my Snapchats cooking and hanging out Saturday afternoon! Later Saturday night, Jack and I went to the top of the Empire State Building! Touristy, yes. Worth it? Also a major yes. It was crazy windy (we're talking like going outside on the 86th floor and being scared of legitimately blowing away) but the night time view was really pretty. We had gone to the top of the Freedom Tower in August during the day, so it was cool to get a different view of New York!

After the Empire State we continued to explore until ~1 AM. We walked around Koreatown, attempted to find a taco place still open, failed, and then went back to the apartment!
Jack had to leave pretty early on Sunday, so I got myself a good old New York Bagel and did a long walk around Central Park before I had to go back to school. I also grabbed an acai bowl a few hours later for the bus because I couldn't resist! I had to be back at school at 4:15 for initiation on Sunday, and my bus arrived at 4:12. So stressful.

Sunday night was initiation and catching up on some work and studying for a test I had yesterday. Yesterday afternoon I went to the Apple Store and they were able to reconnect my hard drive to the cable (?). My laptop is finally on and alive and I am so thankful for the Genius Bar! Still slow, but nothing more I can do. I'm just glad it's working!!
Friday I am off to Miami with my best friend, but I also have to pack for Vermont at the end of Spring Break! I really am so excited for some sunshine and warm weather. What are your plans?
Sorry for the rambling; happy Tuesday! Thanks for reading, as always.
Missed you guys!!!
xoxo

This weekend was so incredibly fun. Besides being perfect weather, I got to escape from Bethlehem for a few days with one of my best college friends! She is from Long Island, so I got to explore a different part of Long Island than I'm familiar with, and then we saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Saturday night!!!! The concert was incredibly. Seriously, it was insane. I can't even describe it! They're so cool in real life and they played every single classic/famous/old song of theirs, which was really fun to hear because I wasn't expecting that.
A few photos...
We took an early afternoon bus out from school straight into the city on Friday just in time for an early dinner before continuing on the train to Long Island. We stopped for pasta at Il Punto in the Garment District and it was delicious!
When we got to Long Island we dropped off our backs and hopped in my friend's car to head to the mall and do a little last-minute concert-outfit shopping. I couldn't help but swoon over the bridal section of Nordstrom... typical.
We ended up getting back to her house, watching movies, falling asleep on the couch, and not rallying until noon on Saturday!
Buuuut, Saturday was the. best. day. We got New York bagels and iced coffees, drove around her town (it's a beach town, so it was gorgeous) and blasted music as I got to explore. One of her best friends from high school was also home for the weekend for the concert, so she tagged along too, which was so fun.
Her beach.... so cute.
Tomato + mozz + balsamic on a croissant = my weakness.
After a few more relaxing hours, we ventured back into the city for the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS!!!
Unreal. So unreal. Words can't even describe.
I think I am going to work on making a master video of the videos I took at the concert to commemorate the night... If I do (which let's be real, I'll probably never get around to it), I will be sure to share it here!
A little Sunday morning brunchin' to follow... We went to this cool spot in Astoria called "create" where I had a quinoa bowl with egg whites, avocado, black beans, and chipotle, and then a delicious smoothie on the side! The smoothie sounded kind of intriguing so I had to order it... I think it was avocado, banana, pineapple and almond milk! Pretty simple, but I was fascinated about avocado in a smoothie. I would definitely recommend! So refreshing with the pineapple and super creamy.
After, we did a little bit of exploring in Astoria Park, which was also new to me. Her cousin lives in Astoria and came to the concert with us, so we stayed with her Saturday night which was both fun and super convenient. The weather was perfect so we walked around the park a bit before rushing back to school in time to finish all our homework.
Overall, it was a short, quick, and eventful weekend, but so, so fun. I can't believe I got to see the chili peppers in real life too!!
How was your weekend?

NYC Weekend Recap
11/16/16
First of all, my apologies for being MIA for the last two days. Funny story, while I was in New York this weekend with my best friend from home, she accidentally took my laptop charger back to school with her and I didn't get a chance to charge my laptop until last night! Anyways, aside from that, we had the best weekend together. Caro is one of my best, best friends from high school and I could not have been more excited to see her and spend a few days together in my favorite city!!
This weekend worked our perfectly to get together because we were both free, and an added bonus was that it was just after exams for me so I didn't have to worry about coming back to a heavy workload. In fact, I usually have five classes on Friday and one of my afternoon classes was cancelled this time, so I was able to leave Bethlehem a little early and meet Caro in NYC around four.
The bus from Bethlehem dropped me off in the same spot as Caro's bus dropped her off and I got in a little before her so I popped into Dean and Deluca across the street to admire all of their pretty sweet treats while I waited for her. When she arrived we trekked through Times Square a little bit before making our way up to my aunt's place on the Upper East Side where we stayed for the weekend.
I got in around 4:30 and Caro closer to 5 so by the time we made it through the crazy Friday evening Manhattan traffic we were definitely ready for dinner.
We went around the corner to the Penrose where we split a fish taco loaded with avocado, Caro had the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and I had the mac and cheese! So, so good. The taco was definitely the winner for me. Fun fact: avocado's are my favorite things, and since I never ever get to eat them at school I always over-indulge on them whenever I have the chance to. The whole restaurant was really cute and fit the vibe we were feeling... a little dark, kind of small, but busy and buzzing just like the city!
The rest of our Friday evening was spent watching movies and just hanging out since we had the apartment to ourselves. We were both exhausted and wanted to make the most of our day on Saturday, so we were in bed pretty early.
Saturday morning we got acai bowls around the corner at Juice Generation and then walked down quite a few blocks until we stopped to eat them and grab coffee at Shakespeare and Co, a really quaint bookstore and coffee shop. Seriously the yummiest way to start off your day on a healthy note!
Following breakfast we just spent the majority of our day shopping and wandering around the city. Of course, no trip to NYC is complete without a stop at Bloomingdale's, the Plaza, avocado toast, and Central Park, all of which we were able to pack in.
We got avocado toast for lunch in Midtown at Little Collins, which was seriously incredible. I was so beyond full after even just half my slice but couldn't not finish it, because it was incredible. Oh, how I missed avo toast!!
After our lunch break we continued our exploration downtown where we passed a crazy big protest going on outside the Trump tower. The whole weekend was non-stop sirens and protests because of the election, and it was really interesting to be there when it was actually going on. As much as I wish there could continue to be a peaceful transition of power, I understand how influential and controversial this election is and I am only going to continue to trust in God and pray that things don't become too out-of-hand.
After we made it more downtown we wound up at Bryant Park and stopped for a coffee break. We hung out there because it was bustling with people ice skating and enjoying the pop-up markets and shops, which was just a really cute ambience to get into the holiday spirit. We sat at the cafe which was designed by Crate and Barrel, so it was obviously had the coolest interior design. Eventually we hopped in a cab and went back uptown to meet my aunt for dinner!
My aunt was out of town on Friday night, as I mentioned that we had the place all to ourselves, but she returned Saturday afternoon and took Caro and I to dinner with one of her girlfriends at Sarabeth's Saturday night. Because I'm an avocado addict, as I claimed before, I couldn't just not order the avocado toast... two in one day can't be that bad, can it?! I don't care, no regrets at all. The burrata on the side just made it so delicious I wouldn't have enjoyed anything else more!!
After dinner the four of us (me, Caro, my aunt and her friend) went back to my aunt's to hang out for a little bit before going out Saturday night. We had a ton of fun and just enjoyed the city!
Sunday morning Caro's bus left at 11:30 so we slept in until 10 before grabbing coffee and splitting a ricotta, avocado, and egg white croissant sandwich a la The Petite Shell, which was super yummy. I then went with her to drop her off at the bus station and say my goodbye's!! It was so weird being all alone in the city for a little bit, but I made my way back uptown for fun lunch plans with Amy Stone.
Amy and I met for lunch at Pizza Beach on the Upper East Side which was just as delicious as it was fun and beachy and a really quaint restaurant. Amy and I wound up spending the whole afternoon together just walking around, popping into shops, exploring the park a little bit, and just hanging out! She is seriously the best and such a great mentor. I loved getting to see her again and spend a few hours together with someone who I truly look up to.
I ended up taking an 8:30 train back to school Sunday night and returned to my dorm around 11.
Overall, it was an incredibly full weekend packed with people I love and missed and whom I'm so, so glad I got to see even if just for 48 hours!
xoxo
