Bar Cart Inspiration + My Favorite Drinks

photo via Mackenzie Horan

After sharing my Quarantine Cocktail Menu and some apartment inspiration, I have to talk a little bit about my own favorite drinks and, of course, share some bar cart decor. I have a lot of favorite drinks, and a very strong desire to have a cute bar cart in my apartment next year to enjoy them!

So random, but here's something I think about a lot: A Bar at the Folies-Bergère by Manet is my favorite painting. I studied it when I took art history during my sophomore year of college. I've always wanted it framed above my bar cart... I just love the idea of having more classical, old fashioned art above the bar cart for some reason!

I found so many cute bar-art pieces when browsing for my small space decor post the other day. Worth noting: I have a crush on Al Pacino.

Onto my favorite drinks!

I love a variety of drinks. Beer, wine, cocktails, you name it, I probably like it. If I had to pick one liquor to drink forever, it would be gin, though I love tequila as a very, very close second. What would life be without a Paloma or spicy margarita? I just don't want to imagine. Fun fact, I prefer to avoid vodka whenever I can, but I love a classic Moscow Mule, occasionally.

My favorite cocktail is a French 75, which I order wherever I can, without sugar. I like it simple... just the gin, champagne, and lemon. It's refreshing and bubbly, my two preferred qualities for any cocktail. If I'm at a bar with my friends I usually order a tequila-soda with two limes.

My favorite wine is Sauvignon Blanc, preferably a Sancerre when it's an option. I generally prefer white over red, but I do sometimes love a glass of red wine! I would say I know more about white wines than reds, so I don't think I have a favorite red wine... I just know I like it when I'm in the mood for it!

Surprisingly, I love beer. Like, I really love beer. In the fall I discovered a seasonal pumpkin beer at Trader Joe's and probably had one every day for the whole month of October.

Anyway! I have been drinking Corona far longer than the virus has made it relevant, it's usually my go-to. I also love Modelo Negro, which is underrated. It's similar to Corona but has a bit of a darker note. Both are fantastically leveled-up with a wedge of lime.

Wisconsin makes great beer, obviously. You can only find New Glarus' Spotted Cow in our state, and it's one of my favorite beers of all time. It's so delicious, creamy, refreshing and a little bit citrusy. If you ever find yourself in Wisconsin, you must order a Spotted Cow (with some cheese curds on the side for good measure ;) I also love a good old PBR or Miller Lite when I'm with friends or at a party. Sorry, it's true!

If I had to pick one beer, it might be Red Stripe. Not only are the bottles adorable and aesthetically pleasing, but I love the taste of Red Stripe! I actually have an entire case of it in my fridge right now.. might have to crack one open later! ;)

What are your favorite drinks? Do you have a bar cart at home?
xoxo
