April Favorites


April was a simple month in terms of favorites. Mostly, my favorite things were all touched upon in this blog post where I shared all of the things making me happy in quarantine. But, for the sake of monthly tradition, here are my favorites from April in a more organized format...

L I S T E N I N G
My quar(fr)an))tunes playlist and chill summer vibes playlist have been on repeat lately, along with lots of jazz + Frank Sinatra vibes while cooking dinner and during cocktail hour. I also recently made this roadtrip playlist because I went camping on Friday night!

Also, my favorite podcasts!

W E A R I N G
I didn't buy a single thing (clothing-wise) in April, so I think that means I'm going to need to do some shopping soon?! I did, however, order this dress and these sandals from Express. I am so excited to wear the sandals this summer and the dress to work in the fall!

I've been living in my align leggings, veja's, and random sweatshirts lately. This month, I'm thinking of ordering this lace top, this striped top, these shorts, and these shorts, which would be so cute in every color and I feel like so comfortable and versatile!

R E A D I N G
I shared the books that I've read so far in quarantine in this blog post. I'm currently trying to get into Where The Crawdads Sing again because I tried a few months ago but just wasn't into it... I've heard such great things though that I am trying again!

B E A U T Y
I literally haven't worn makeup since mid-March, so there's not much to share here! However, I was sent this serum by a new-to-me clean beauty brand, Nuria, which I've been loving. I especially love that not only are they a clean beauty brand, but they have a fantastic mission (supporting girls' education!) and are donating all profits right now to Covid-19 relief in partnership with Save The Children.

E X E R C I S I N G
I've mostly been going on long walks and runs outside. The weather has been lovely lately, which I am so grateful for. I think I need to make it a rule for myself to incorporate an at-home strength-based/toning workout 1-2x a week though... it's so easy for me to go for a long walk and count that as my exercise, which I'm fine with, but I know for my body that I can run better when I'm doing some things to mix it up, and I've definitely noticed that since I haven't been doing any sort of other exercises, it's been harder for me to run lately! Does anyone else feel that way?

E A T I N G
I shared a lot of simple recipes I've been making in quarantine in this blog post and created a highlight on my Instagram for my favorite simple pancake recipe. I also made homemade gnocchi a few weekends ago which was not only fun but surprisingly easy to do and turned out so well! Here is the recipe we used. It makes for such a fun little quarantine date night.

D R I N K I N G
Umm... my quarantine cocktails, duh! But actually, I've also been drinking a ton of wine. I gave up wine for Lent and ever since it ended, I've been downing Sauvignon Blanc like there's no tomorrow. Maybe I need to stop, but I won't ;)

D O I N G
LOL, so this is a new section of the favorites, but I think it's pretty relevant considering our quarantined circumstances! I've been basically just going on walks whenever I can to get out of my apartment. Morning walks, afternoon walks, sunset walks... you can probably find me out walking around Madison at any hour of the day if I'm not inside my apartment blogging away! It's a simple life, but I can't say I'm too mad about it! Now that school is officially over for me (college reflection here!), I've also been taking Yale's online happiness course and getting back into French via online lessons.
