Homecoming Recap

Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from Saturday night. {You can read about my dress here}

The dance was slightly less fun than previous years because of an interesting venue change, but dinner, pictures, and the after party were quite a success! Half of our group showed up over 20 minutes late to pictures, so unfortunately there wasn't a lot of time to take group photos. However, the pictures we got this year are definitely the best yet!

My date and I... It took me a solid 10 minutes to get his boutonniere on straight. Oops!

How was your weekend?

Why You Should Shop Crewcuts

So... I had an extremely busy week. Tomorrow is homecoming for my school, meaning this past week was spirit week. Every year we have something called Dash-A-Thon on the thursday preceding homecoming. Dash-A-Thon is one of my favorite days of the whole year because we raise a ton of money for the school and then walk 7 miles on Thursday! It's fun to see everyone dress up and I can definitely say that you don't know what it's like to have glitter in your hair until you go through a Dash-A-Thon... I think I shampooed 3 times last night? Anyyywhoooo.... I figured what better to share today than my homecoming dress for tomorrow!! My date and I will be twinning in all J. Crew everything (#blessed)

Oh wait... {My dress} is from crewcuts.

I am usually a 2/4 in J. Crew and I ordered a size 16 in this dress from crewcuts... Um, I was 99% sure I wasn't going to be able to breathe when I put it on but I ordered it anyways, and not only does it fit, it's big. I probably could've gone for the 14! It doesn't fit awkwardly and I'm utterly impressed.

I have to admit it's a little strange that I'm wearing a crewcuts dress to hoco, but honestly, I don't care that much considering how cute it is! Seriously, I'm going to shop crewcuts more often.

Do you ever shop the kids section?

I'm heading to Chicago today for a French field trip to a French restaurant and a tour of some of the exhibits at the Art Museum! Have a great weekend!

Sweater Weather

sweater (old, similar here) // shorts (old, similar here) // sandals // longchamp

It's officially turning into sweater weather... And shorts weather. I don't know how I feel about the combination, but it really seems to work for this crazy Wisconsin weather. It's too cold out for just a tee shirt, but I don't think I'm ready to pull out my pants quite yet.

Look On The Bright Side

When the school year started I was convinced my life could not get better. I was having great days every single day for about a month, and I could usually find any little reason to smile throughout the day. My life was going smoothly, and the clear skies didn't seem to fade.... until last week.

When I was in New York, talking to my friends, I realized that I assume a lot of you guys know about things that I've never actually talked about on the blog. Weird, I know. Some things are just such a big aspect of my life I don't even think it needs to be mentioned, but in actuality, you have no idea what I'm doing with my life!
My dad lives in Rhode Island, that's why we have the house out there (it's not just a random other house), and he came back in town last week for a surgery he had yesterday. My parent's are divorced, so when he comes back in town, I usually like to stay with him! Makes sense, right? So, last week, I was at dad's house when I realized all of the things I had to go through my sophomore year of high school. The divorce, my dad moving across the country, and quite a few other things I will probably end up mentioning in some other rant of a post ;)

The point of this isn't to ask for pity, because TBH I really don't care that much about certain things (I tend to be a little abrasive... oops), but to show that you don't need to let the little things (or the big things) get you down. Even when your life seems to be falling apart, there's always a silver lining where you can find something to smile about.

Enjoy today!

Last Seconds of Summer

top: TJ Maxx (similar) // shorts: j. crew factory

As excited as I am for fall, it would only be right to say my final farewells to summer. I had one of the best summers yet, and I owe it to my friends and family for everything! Vacations, boys, concerts, and so many more memories that I will cherish forever.

Running Playlist

Untitled #357

I've been running a lot lately and I honestly think it's because I've never been so motivated by a playlist than I am with this one! I'm obsessed with every single one of these songs, and I definitely am the kind of person who can only run if it's to a good beat. You don't even have to be a runner to love some good, fun, music! I listen to these songs sometimes before a big game or just to get up in the morning.

What are your favorite pump up songs?

Fall Kicks

sweater (vintage, similar here) // jeans // shoes // watch // bracelet

This may or may not be my favorite outfit I've ever blogged... I think it's just so me! A classic sweater in fall paired with skinny jeans is one of my favorite combinations, and these shoes are my new obsession. I took a risk purchasing ripped jeans, but I have to say I'm loving the look of them. I can't wait to pull out my sweaters more regularly to get into the feel of fall even more.

How are you kickstarting fall?

Bloggers Go Unplugged

Hi everyone! I won't be posting (for real) today or tomorrow as a part of "Bloggers Go Unplugged". School can be super stressful, especially at the beginning, so I'm excited to take a few days off from blogging with a bunch of other girls! You can still keep up with me on social media, or check around here to see if you've missed anything. See you Monday!

Have a great weekend!

My Brain Hurts

Lol... you guys, I did the most embarrassing thing. Long story short, I have a concussion. Long story: I was tubing at the lake on Sunday and we were going so slow on such bumpy waters that I got what I like to consider shaken baby syndrome (it's not funny. children can die from that. 16 year olds on the other hand...) and now I'm concussed. I had to sit out from field hockey practice yesterday and I really can't describe how embarrassing it is to explain to people that I'm concussed from being shaken around too much. Honestly, I don't think this would ever happen to anyone else besides me. Smh. Hahahahhaah see what I did there?! Smh means shake my head in case you're confused.

Happy Wednesday!!! Enjoy the pinspiration!

Labor Day at the Lake

You might have seen on my Instagram a few snaps of my weekend at the lake. I was there only on Sunday, but I took so many cute pictures that I shared a few yesterday as well. I forgot about this maxi that I bought last summer, so I knew I had to wear at it least once while it was still in season!
