Chicago Outfits & Weekend Recap

This past weekend was SO much fun. I flew out to Chicago to celebrate my best friend Elizabeth's birthday. In college, Elizabeth, myself, and two of our other best friends Celia and Coco all lived together. The four of us are so close but have not all been together since before I moved, so the weekend was extra special and exciting. We had such a great time, and I want to do a full recap of what we did, where we stayed, what we wore, and all of the things to answer any questions you might have, as well as for my own memory! 

First off, we stayed at Celia's parents' apartment for the weekend. They recently bought a pre-decorated apartment on Chicago's gold coast and it is absolutely immaculate. The decor is gorgeous and the apartment is perfect down to every detail. It was a beautiful place to stay and a fabulous location near all of the places we were headed. 

I flew into Chicago on Thursday and stayed at my brother's apartment where I worked on Friday. Celia drove down and picked me up, and then we picked up some drinks and snacks before heading to the apartment. Coco and Elizabeth drove down a couple of hours later after they finished work, and we all popped champagne and got ready together! 

FRIDAY

The four of us then met up with all of our guy friends for dinner. We went to Homeslice pizza and it was great! Elizabeth's boyfriend lives in Chicago so the rest of the boys drove down from Milwaukee (where we are all from) and stayed with him for the weekend. 

After dinner, we went out at the Vig, which was super fun! We celebrate Elizabeth's birthday with a magnum of Veuve and at the end of the night, we even ran into Lauren Elizabeth!

SATURDAY

On Saturday the boys came over and all of us made breakfast together and hung out. Then, our entire group walked downtown and shopped together for a little before splitting off. The boys went who knows where, and us girls ventured over to Neiman Marcus for lunch. We were all manic from recapping the night and being a little hungover, so our lunch was a bit unhinged... it was great.

We made our way back to the apartment where we just relaxed for a while before getting ready for our Saturday night plans. Our other friend Karlie joined us too! We went to the restaurant at Restoration Hardware which is beyond gorgeous. It worked out really well because it is so close to the apartment and it was pouring rain.

Elizabeth and I split a burger and a caesar, and Karlie and Celia also split a burger and split the gem salad. Coco had the gem salad as well, and everythhing was delicious. We all shared truffle fries and a bottle of sparkling rosé, and I would highly recommend everything we ordered. Unfortunately, I was wearing this top which was SUPER tight (size up if you order it!!!), and we were all a bit hungover, so the vibes from our end were not 100%, but I would love to go back to the RH restaurant when I'm more comfortable/feeling better to truly enjoy the gorgeous atmosphere. 

Saturday night we again met up with the boys and went out at LG's. Pretty chill night for us, all things considered. 

SUNDAY

Sunday, Celia and Coco drove back to Milwaukee, and Elizabeth and I stayed for a bit longer. We got lunch at Parson's (our favorite spot!) -- we share mac & cheese, fries, and the hot chicken sandwich. Lol, just reading that, I'm like, can you tell we were unwell or what? Parson's has an amazing cocktail menu, too, so EJ had a bloody mary, and I tried the negroni slush that they're famous for. Both were oustanding. I've also had their gin & pickle juice drink before and it is delicious. 

After lunch we popped into some cute boutiques in Lincoln Park. I found some fabulous little earrings at Lori's, which is a store I grew up going to with my mom when we lived in Chicago, it's my mom's favorite shoe store of all time and they have fabulous accessories as well. Elizabeth and I also stopped at Jeni's for ice cream, too, because why not?

We drove back to Milwaukee later Sunday afternoon and that was it! We did get dinner Sunday night in Milwaukee with one of our childood besties Joseph, which was such a treat because I had not seen him since before I moved.
