My Favorite SPF Products for Face

I posted on IG stories last week asking if you'd like me to review some of my go-to face products with SPF, and I was shocked at how many of you said yes! I know for me, SPF has been extra important lately, but I sort of thought I was late to the game and everyone else had already figured out their favorite products... guess not, lol! I am so excited to share these with you. They are summer game-changers for me!

Ok, so I have tried probably like 10 different SPF moisturizers/tinted moisturizers/sunscreens that I could share, but I don't think that's totally necessary. Instead, I'm breaking this down by my favorites within three categories. Whether you're looking for an SPF for when you're getting super sweaty outside, a makeup base with SPF, or just everyday protection, I've got a rec for you!

Best for sweat
Colorescience Face Shield SPF 50 // I've been using this pretty much all summer, applying a small amount before I go for a run on a sunny day. Yesterday I wasn't thinking and completely forgot to put on SPF, and omg... my face totally got burnt! I wasn't 100% sure if this made a difference before yesterday, but now I am convinced. What I like about this especially is that some other SPF's almost make me feel even hotter when I run, like my face has a film or layer on it so the sweat can't get out? I don't really know how to describe it, but this doesn't do that. It doesn't feel like it's clogging my pores, it just protects!

Best everyday
Epicuren Defend & Balance SPF 50  // At first use, I didn't know how I felt about this... but now, I'm in love. I use two pumps, rub into my face like I would a moisturizer, and it just gives the most subtle, sheer glow. It feels so light and smells fabulous. It's a little expensive which is annoying, but if you are willing to splurge, I think it's worth it. It has great ingredients like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Green Tea Extract, and Kukui Nut Oil making it a really great option for something that goes on your face every single day.

I have also tried an Unsun sunscreen, which is actually a black-founded brand! I loved it but it has since been discontinued -- or maybe replaced by this one? It was great light coverage and I would totally recommend it (it's super inexpensive, too!) but just not totally sure if this is the same product I have... looks great, though!

Best makeup
(for someone like me, who wants light coverage) bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 // This was sent to me accidentally by Sephora, and I am so grateful for the mistake. I got so lucky that the shade they sent (by accident!) is perfect for me. I mean, how does that happen?! (I am shade 4.5, wheat
Anyway, you guys know I like to go light on my makeup, so this provides just the right amount of coverage for me and is super easy to apply. I apply this directly to my face and then use a foundation brush to blend it in (you can see here in my makeup routine IGTV!). It covers up my redness but you can still see my freckles-- exactly what I am looking for when using a tinted moisturizer! Perfect for summer. When I originally posted about this on my IG story, many of you shared your positive experience using this product as well!

(for someone who wants a bit more coverage) IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ // This provides slightly more coverage than the bareMinerals tinted moisturizer. Two of my roommates also use this product and love it! I know for one of my roomies who has more redness and sometimes acne-prone skin, she especially loves this and always glows when she uses this as a base. The other roomie just likes more of a strong base when she does her makeup. I can't remember the last time I did a full face of makeup, but if that's what I was going for, this is what I would pull out. I have shade medium, but in the summer I feel it's slightly too light, so if I had one shade darker maybe I'd be using it more this season.

Do you have a favorite SPF? I have heard great things about all of the Supergoop sunscreens but haven't tried any of them!
