Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! Thanks to everyone who voted in my poll on Insta stories last night- weekend recap won for today's post! Don't worry, an outfit will be coming soon. I had the best weekend showing Caroline around my new school and getting to see her, so I'm glad you all wanted me to recap the fun! Little visits with friends, no matter how short, really make college feel more like home. Caroline, my roommate Elizabeth, and I all had so much fun dining, shopping, and exploring downtown Madison. Here's what we were up to:

The three of us went to an amazing tapas restaurant on Friday night for dinner. We shared the paella pictured above, which might have been one of the most delicious morsels I've ever eaten, along with the patatas bravas (like smothered french fries!) pictured below.

We went out after dinner and had fun despite the rain! The weather this weekend wasn't the best, but there is so much to do in Madison that it's easy to ignore a light rain when you're having fun and staying busy.

We woke up early on Saturday morning to head to the farmer's market!!!

The Madison farmer's market is in the capitol square, so vendor's tents line the entire blocks surrounding the capitol building. We all got fall drinks and yummy bakery and sampled probably too much cheese :)

This weekend finally felt like fall and I couldn't help but snap a ton of photos from some of the different festive vendors at the farmer's market. I wanted to stockpile all of the gourds, baby pumpkins, and squash! I wore my new camo pants with Hunter's (perfect for the rain) and an oversized jean jacket (similar to mine here + love this one), and I loved how the look turned out.

Saturday afternoon Caroline had to leave and head back to Milwaukee before returning to school today, so Elizabeth and I had a fun night with the boys watching the Wisconsin game.

Yesterday was pretty lazy, trying to catch up on sleep and keep up with the Kardashians (don't judge-- it's totally my new guilty pleasure!). This week should be another quick one, with an Orange Theory class tonight (excited to try it!) and my mom and another best friend visiting me this coming weekend for the Purdue game. The semester is definitely flying by, and I have to keep on my toes to manage school, aka midterms next week, and all of my lovely visitors coming to hang out!!

How were your weekends? Did you do anything fun?

  1. Thanks for doing this recap!! Totally in love with those camo pants! Good luck with Orange Theory, I have so many friends who do it but I haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet ;)
