France Inspiration Board // Input Needed!

As most of you may know, I'm adventuring out to Limoges, France for 13 days (!!!) and then off to Paris for 4 days in mid-April for spring break this year as the second part of my exchange program through school. I've never been to France and everyone I've talked to claims the weather is all over the place, especially this time of year. I'm basing my ideas of what to pack off of D.C. type of weather, since I visited there in the spring a few years ago and heard similar claims for the disjointed climate. However, all input is extremely helpful and any suggestions you may have I would love to hear!!

I'm planning on loading up on jackets, layering a ton, sporting lots of cute ballet flats, and toting around my necessities in a big cute tote bag like this one!

What do you recommend? Am I on the right track? Calling anyone and everyone who's ever been to France or even has any random suggestions of what I might want to bring, I am all ears. I want to start planning what I need so I can go ahead and get shopping!

  1. So jealous that you are going to France! I can't wait to read all about it. And you definitely need those flats. They are perfect.

  2. Wow, I'm so jealous! Sounds like you're going to have an amazing time! Flats are important because I've been told you're going to walk so much but you'll love it!

  3. I wish I had spent more time in France! Make sure to grab an umbrella as well as some leather booties to wear! It's pretty wet and rainy!
Have a great trip, can't wait to hear about it!

  4. I went for three weeks during the summer and even then it was still pretty chilly! There were maybe two or three completely sunny days. I'd recommend bringing knit sweaters, boots/booties, and definitely an umbrella! Looking forward to reading all about your trip! You will have the best time!!

  5. I've been to Italy before and I notice how 'color' isn't very big over there. I think the key to Parisian style is elegance! Simple, basic neutrals, your blacks, whites, and grays, light pinks. For me, I never want to look like the out-of-place tourist! Hope this helps and best travels!

  6. I recently went to Paris last year for Spring Break, and it was not too chilly at all. Some days it got warm enough to wear a skirt or a dress. Also, converse and vintage Nike's were huge there!

  7. Fun! When I went to Paris in the summer it was cool the first few days and burning hot the rest of the week, I'm not sure if that helps at all. But I definitely recommend packing comfortable shoes for walking, particularly for Paris, because you end up doing a ton of walking. Hope you have an awesome trip, can't wait to hear about it!!
