I love recapping my years on here. I write so few blog posts now in comparison to high school and college, but there are a few things that are still sacred to me: annual recaps, travel recaps, the moodboard... things like that. Sometimes I wonder if I should be writing more blog posts, not so much for other people anymore, but just for myself. The last few years have truly been some of the most wonderful years, and one day I might want to look back on these posts and reminisce about how fun, how fabulous, how lucky I was to spend my 20s in New York.
Anyway, at the very least, I want to recap my 2025 now at a high-level. I love to look back on the highlights, the travels, and the key milestones of the year.
After 2023 and 2024, I knew heading into 2025 that topping things for a third year in a row was going to be a challenge. And I will say, I don't think I necessarily did "top" the past years. I was thinking about this last week as the New Year was approaching, and I just kept thinking that my life doesn't necessarily need to be linear, getting better and better every year. It's an unrealistic standard to set. And sometimes, it's fine to just take a step back and enjoy the life I've built. But, at the same time, I would be lying if I said it didn't make me feel a bit disappointed in myself, which is how I started to feel mid-last year. Throughout the second half of 2025 I really struggled with feeling like I wasn't accomplishing anything or achieving any goals, feeling a noticeable drop in my personal self-confidence, and just in general feeling a bit lazy and unmotivated. Those are all things I want to focus on this year. While I had a great year, and I have endless memories to be grateful for, I do want to get into better habits of pushing myself and working a bit harder for the life I want.
Just sharing this for anyone else looking at all of the people saying 2025 was their best year ever… not every year needs to be our best year. It’s okay if we didn’t hit all of our goals, or do everything we said we were going to do. It's okay to just enjoy life sometimes. However, I plan to try a little harder in 2026, and I'm excited to see what that brings.
Now let's recap the highlights of 2025!
