Lessons from Fashion Week

Even though fashion week has long come and gone, it's still fun to look back on the street style and many, many instagrams from the shows and events every once in a while. Not to mention, so many style lessons can be taught while eyeing fashionista's ensembles. A few for thought...

Don't be afraid of skirts in any length | So often when shopping online I find myself checking the "mini" or "short" filter when browsing skirts or dresses. Why are we so quick to exclude midi and maxi?! Fashion week teaches us all lengths can be utterly chic and and flattering, just as much as what we may be typically used to.

Scarves aren't just for the neck | Silk scarves are simply beautiful with their vibrant colors and whimsical prints, so why limit them. Tie a scarf around the handle of your purse or try out the look from above by tying a scarf around your wrist. Oh, and how cute would it be to use a silk scarf as a headband (so 70's) or hair bow!

When in doubt, the classics will never fail you | Classic for a reason, I remind you! There is no shame in sticking to your basic when you're at a loss for what to wear. A blue oxford like this is the ideal pairing for a fun pair of pumps and a pleated mini skirt. Sometimes the basics can be so underrated just because they truly are "basic".

  2. These are great tips, I love the one about the scarves! I've recently taken to tying my scarves on my handbags since it's getting to warm to wear them around my neck! Lilly Murfrees look great like that :)
