My Biggest Announcement Yet...

I am thrilled to announce today my post-college plans! I really can't believe this is happening and that I am finally sharing it with all of you!

I'm moving to New York City.

I've wanted to move to New York City since I was twelve. I've gone almost every single year of my whole life, to visit my family, to visit friends, for blog trips, school trips, and even alone! I know it better than anywhere else with the exception of where I grew up.

I am so, so excited and grateful. I applied for so many jobs, turned down a few other offers (which was very risky and scary), all for this job that I can't even believe I got to accept about a month ago! I am going to be doing Digital Strategy and Integrated Experience Consulting for one of the largest, smartest, most innovative companies in the world, and I can't wait!!!

(as a disclaimer, I am not going to announce who I am working for, just to be on the safe side! <3 )

After my internship this summer, I knew I didn't want a typical 9-5 job. With consulting, I will be traveling (across the country, or the world, or my city...) every single week, depending on my project at the time. I love the idea of no day being the same, and working with a team to solve problems... one of my favorite things in life is just being creative and brainstorming, especially with other people. At its core, that's basically what consulting is!

In my specific role, I will be focusing on digital strategy solutions involving artificial intelligence, with my clients being in the entertainment and media industries. That is the extent of what I know so far! I have no idea what to expect, except for that it's going to be a lot of hard work, and very likely long hours. However, as I said in my interview, I don't mind hard work when I'm doing something I love! I am incredibly interested in AI and the future of technology, especially where digital transformation is possible, and I am so excited that I will be working on transformational projects for clients in an industry I love.

I really don't have any other details to share yet, and I don't know exactly what to expect! I have, honestly, no idea where I'm going to live, with who, or when this is all going to fall together... I only know that my start date is in September, and I'm actually starting my training in Chicago and not even in New York! Other than that, I just know my job title and that I am so excited to live in my favorite city, even if only on the weekends (with so much travel during the week). As plans unfold, I will definitely keep sharing my updates. I just couldn't wait any longer to reveal that I'm moving to New York!

If you have any questions, drop them below or on Instagram, and I can talk more soon answering anything related to this!

Thank you all for following along... I've had this blog since I decided on a high school, a college, transferring to another college, and now a real-life, adult decision. It's so crazy... my entire life for the past eight years has been documented here, and this is my biggest announcement yet! There's only more to come...

I had no idea when I started a blog in eighth grade that it would lead me to a career in technology. I never saw this coming, but I am so grateful for the way life unfolds.

Below are a few of my favorite photos from New York over the years...
