What To Wear To a Summer Internship (Under $100!)

I started my internship for the summer exactly a week ago, and the dress code is much more strict than I experienced last year! Last summer I interned at my high school and built a new website for the school and managed/planned a lot of the social media content throughout the summer months. I really loved the projects I worked on; it was exciting to manage such a big project on my own, use a little bit of my coding skills, and make content plans. This summer, I have accepted a communications internship at a Fortune 500 company just outside of Milwaukee, and the structure is a little more composed than last year's casual, comfortable environment.

Bikinis Under $50

Splurging on swimwear is something that hasn't ever crossed my mind. It just seems unimportant because I don't have any plans to have a photoshoot down at the beach in a new suit or go flaunting around in a bikini top. One of my best friends is totally the opposite, and it's funny how true it is that everyone is different in not only body types but in what makes them feel confident. Let's be real, I would just rather splurge on a piece that lasts longer than a swimsuit.

Scrolling Back Through My Instagram

This post could not be more random, but I feel like I can't possibly be the only person that gets nostalgic while scrolling back through old Instagram posts. Especially in the summer, scrolling back reminds me of days when the only things I had planned were my daily water ballet (aka synchronized swimming) class each morning, bike rides with friends, and afternoons at the pool. It's not only the photos that remind me of great memories, but the way I edited them and the random things I posted are pretty funny. Captions were weird, and the whole point of Instagram was just to share what you are up to. UGH!!! Can Instagram please just go back to being the way it once was!!!

Summer Picnic Inspiration + Packing List

I'm a sucker for a good picnic and I always make it a goal of mine each summer to go on at least one picnic with friends or with my mom at the beach or at a park! What's better than spending an afternoon outdoors and enjoying the sunshine, sand, and each other's company among pretty snacks and sips? I love the whole aesthetic of picnics and truly consider them one of summer's many treasures. Read on for a full list of what to do and pack for your next picnic!

Life Recap: Finishing School, Chicago Weekend + Mother's Day

Happy Wednesday! Today I thought it was necessary to do a little life recap of what I've been up to in the last week or so. I am out of school for the summer, I spent a weekend in Chicago with my dad and brother, and I had such a fun Mother's Day with my mom and our family friends.

Summer Reading List

Happy summer babes! I have been done with exams for a little over a week now and I've found great company in a few books since I've been off school. Since I don't start my internship until late next week (more on that later!), I've been reading as much as I can not only because I don't have much else to do (lame, but true) but because I know once things start to pick up speed for the summer I'll be finding myself with less time on my hands to just relax and read. I shared a few reading updates in blog posts last summer and in the last few days on Insta Stories, so I thought it would only be appropriate to put together a formal blog post chatting about what I've read and what I want to read in the next couple of months!

4 Step Laundry Hacks

If doing your own laundry intimidates you, join the club. Warning: I am about to sound very, very pathetic and incapable. When I got to college last year, I would not go to the laundry room without a friend for fear I'd put the machine on the wrong setting and destroy my clothes. Even with the help of Google, I never really trusted myself! But now I feel like I’ve gotten a handle on it and I’m excited to share my 4-Step Laundry Hack. Scroll below to see my tips!

Summer Mood Board

A few weeks ago I went through my Pinterest and picked out some of my favorite photos that are inspiring me for the summer. I thought it would be fun to share this today because in just five hours I will be finishing up my last final! I'm planning to pick up a book at the library after so I can spend my whole afternoon by the rooftop pool at my apartment. I'm living in a different building next year, so I need to take full advantage of this opportunity while I can!! I will probably pack up my things tonight or tomorrow and head out tomorrow evening, but I don't have much to do once I get home so I'm not in any hurry.

When are you done for the summer?
xoxo

This Week's Top 10

1. Happy last Friday of my sophomore year of college!!! HOW has this semester flown by so fast? I know I keep saying it, but I really am in awe that I start summer on Monday. Just three exams stand between me and the end of my first half of college. Wowwwwww...

2. That said, I'll be spending all weekend in the library, wearing this, and never ever taking it off. #obsessed

3. I don't read my horoscope often, but I randomly checked it a few days this week and it was so spot on with how I've been feeling lately. I use this website to check if you're interested in checking yours too! What's your zodiac sign? Does it suit you? I'm a Leo and it couldn't fit me more perfectly!

Pretty in Pink

Happy Thursday! Exams are in full swing for me now; my first was yesterday, I have another today, two on Sunday (isn't that rude?!) and my last on Monday before I am done with half of my college career (!!!) and starting summer! This semester has been the most fun semester I've had at college so far and I can't even believe how happy I am with college at this point, especially in comparison to this time last year. Anyways, if you follow me on social media you might know I've been on a major pink kick lately. I can't wait to include more pink into my wardrobe this summer, especially because my current daily outfits consist 99% of neutral colors, like white tops, denim, and shades of blue.
