Fitness Confessions + Favorite Workout Circuit

A part of my New Year's resolution was to be healthier. Super specific, I know. Original, too! In all seriousness, however, my main goals included hitting my Fitbit steps everyday, and eating right. In general, I eat pretty healthy foods, but one of my main problems is eating too much food... healthy or not. Like, get me a thing of ice cream and once I've started there is no stopping. It's bad. Working out more has helped motivate me to eat right and I've been doing pretty well this month. I've had days where my caloric intake seems to be out of control, but I know this whole thing is a process and slowly but surely those days are starting to occur a little less frequently. And another perk of working out is that I don't feel as hungry afterward or as inclined to have a snack!

My workouts usually consist of anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes on the elliptical or treadmill to start. If I want a quick workout, I'll opt for 30 minutes on one machine, or 20 on one machine and 10 on another, and then some other exercises for about 20 minutes after. If I'm going for a fuller workout, I aim for 60 cardio minutes, and then 30 minutes or more of strength/other exercises. Lately I've gotten into a bit of a routine when it comes to those other exercises, thanks to a mix of Pinterest workouts and my favorite little moves! (Follow my health and fitness board on Pinterest here!)

This whole thing probably takes around 10-15 minutes, and I take little breaks in between each exercise whenever I feel the need. Usually I throw in some random abs exercises at the end, and I'll change up the numbers if some things feel too easy or too difficult on certain days, but this is a rough estimate of what I've been doing at the gym lately! Not going to lie, this circuit really isn't all that hard either... it seems long but everything is just in little bursts. The only thing that really gets me sometimes is that wall sit!

Do you have any favorite circuits? What do your workouts look like? I'd love a little inspiration! (And link your fitness Pinterest board below if you have one... I might have to follow you, those are my favorites!)

  1. I really like this workout! I have been working out a lot recently as well, but I was in definite need of a set routine to try and I'm for sure going to give this a try!
